She’s only 4 but she already knows how to live off the land! During the session she ate stink grass (?), clovers, and miner’s lettuce. I think she even tried to eat a flower but I think she spit it out!

I posted previously about custom mommy cards that I design for clients, but now I’m designing ready-made cards for the average mom that just wants to use her OWN photo. I know, what does that have to do with portrait photography? Well, nothing really, but since I’m pretty heavily involved in SLOCountyMommies (go North County!), I would someday love to see all the members carrying their own card and swapping them out with fellow mommies. It’s sort of like trading cards for moms!

This little girl and her mom share the same birthday, which is in just a few days. They decided to make a tradition of getting their pictures taken every year. What a great tradition, huh? Happy Birthday Jeanne and Cassie!

I had a fun session the other day at Dinosaur Caves in Shell Beach. The lighting was a challenge with the mid-day sun and virtually no shade, but I thrive on challenges! I really love the color of the eggs in the playground and some poppies we found that made a nice setting against the ocean. This is 9 month old Madeline, a baby planner. It’s so much fun to see my baby planners grow and thrive. It reminds me how fast time goes by and how glad I am that the parents commissioned me to record their child’s first year. I hope they appreciate it as much as I do!

There’s nothing like admiring the tiny little nails on a newborn’s fingers. This little guy was a joy to work with and finally conked out after all his hard work.
