Custom Fonts: come and get ‘em!

October 19th, 2008 , Posted in Customizations

Do you notice anything different about this blog today?  Yup, I’ve got a new custom font for my post titles.  Neat, huh?  I’ve been having a lot of fun with it on my own photography blog, working out the kinks and making sure it works on all platforms.  It’s a flash-based font system (aka sIFR fonts), so as long as the browser viewing your blog supports flash, it WILL show up.  On other browsers, say like on an iphone, that doesn’t support flash, it will default to a standard non-flash, web-safe font, so you’ll still be able to see the title, it just won’t be in the custom font you chose.

I will be offering this as a deluxe customization with an extensive list of fonts available.  For now, it is only available for post and page titles, but not menu bar titles.  Still need to work out the kinks there.

Just another way to spruce up your blog and make it even more custom than before.  Woohoo!

I’ve been meaning to blog about this but I’m just finally having time to do so now.  This is another “Ground Up” blog with very, very custom elements.  Casia Fletcher of Purplenickel Photography had very specific criteria and guidelines of her design that made the project both challenging and thrilling to work on.  The top navigations are not the standard menu bars you see in most photography blogs these days, including the buttons that lead back to the home page and her photography website.  The footer includes navigation tools that were also very unique and includes a handy statistics table.  When you get a chance, check it out!  The photography happens to be easy on the eyes as well. ;)
